Need High Quality amp recommendations

i have about a $400-$500 budget for a single amp.

id like to get at least 1000w at 2ohm mono for the money.

im looking for the best SQ and build quality available.

i'll be hooking it up to 2x Brahma MKII 10" subs in a dual chamber sealed box.

i was originally looking at phoenix gold, crossfire, orion, memphis amps, but im more interested in what you guys think are the best quality amps out their.

An Arc Audio T Class 1500D-R will do 1k wrms at 2 ohms mono, 900 at 4 ohms mono and is 1 ohm stereo stabled. It's an awesome amp that has subsonic filter, a flexible xover system, and sounds solid with subs.

1 10" brahma can handle 1000 watts with no problem. you really wouldn't be doing them justice with about 500 rms a piece. a pg tantrum 1200.1 would do you nice. it would give each sub atleast 700 watts rms at 2 ohms.

There is probably a lot better out there but I can't answer help much because I don't waste time looking at things I can not have...I envy your budget.

i was thinking this also, but i figured if i wasnt happy with it i could just get another amp and run 1 amp to each sub seperatly.

pg doesnt make the tantrum anymore do they? where would you suggest i get one?

i dont know alot about what amps are good, but i know audiobahn is bad. before i started this build i already had one friend tell me he'd shoot me if i ever bought anything from audiobahn

how does the new phoenix gold xenon 1200.1 compare to the tantrum 1200.1?

and whats with the 1-4ohm thing? power output stays the same even though resistance is reduced? doesnt that contradict ohms law?

EDIT: also, what about these new ED nine.1 amps? i heard good things about their subs a while ago, but they werent making amps back then.

My suggestion is that you get a Nine.1..which should roughly give your around 1000 watts at 2 ohm...if you feel like you need more power...buy another one and strap them together for around 2500+ Watts!!! Go to edesignaudio.com, look at the Nine.1 feedback section. I left feedback there under the name Cameron if you are interested.

what with these Refurbished Viper D2500.1??

2500watts at 2ohms for 350 bucks? is their somthing wrong with them? or is it not RMS and rather peak power? why are they so cheap? granted their refurbished but still, somthing this powerfull from like memphis or orion would be around a grand.
