So my amp and sub were working just fine for about a month. I was just playing it an hour ago and I go back to get in my car and it no longer worked. It turns out my amp is fried, so i hooked up my friends amp which works and it still wasnt working. It turns out everytime i hook it up correctly my power shorts out. I have no idea why this is going on! Can somebody help me out? I want my stereo system to work again!

I am not trying to question your intelligence but have you actually put a meter on the power wire to confirm this assumption? If you are 100% sure it is shorting out, give us a run down on exactly how it was installed (example: where your remote is connected, what vehicle, is the power wire through the wire wall)

Go back and check all you wiring.Pull it out, and start over if you have to.You may have an exposed hot wire, or a bad ground, several issues could be mentioned.
