hey all ok heres my delimma...

i have a 15'' re mx coming and will be here monday.

i need to get a box idea.

i have a 98 corvette thats is a hatchback so it cant be very tall.

so could i have the subwoofer facing up at the glass and the port facing the back of the car.

the sub mounting depth is 11'' compared to having it stand up at 15''

and if i could do that what if i wanted to get a plexiglass window in the side where the port would be so it looks ok from having the trunk open. any affects of having that?

or what if i have the sub facing the cabin of the car so when you look back u se the sub and having the port face the back of the car...not sure if you can do that i just need a good box that gets loud any help would be appreciated

its hard to say...especially without pictures of what we're dealing with etc.

basically you want as little cancellation as possible, and usually facing port and sub direct opposite ways isn't a good idea. If you want the sub forward, you can do port up or side or forward, but you have to seal up the area behind the box from the cabin.

Its generally best to just go port/sub back and as far back in the trunk as possible

x2 and do the bottom of the box in FG and then use a plexi mounting ring with led's that would look better.

kinda a large woofer for that car. you might wana go sealed with the woofer facing up. ported would just not work for that car imo.

not if you intend to play music on them. The sub is gonna unload super quick

if it was SPL only it would be ok...but you don't want to do that for too much daily driving
