Need Help

Ok I got my components in today and I already have wire running for my amp from when I had my subs hooked up. Well I tried to hook up my components with the speaker wire to the amp. Well all I got played through my speakers was bass, I could barely hear the words and my tweeter made a weird noise. What did I do wrong?

your amp may have the built in crossover (if it has one) on the low pass setting.. or it could be hooked into the sub output on the H/U..

what is your amp and H/U?

Yea the RCA'S are hooked to the sup output but where else would the RCA's go? That's the only place for them on my H/U.

On one of my HU's, it has the ability to switch the sub output to a normal output, check you're manual to see if you're HU has this feature, also you could simply shut off the internal xover and if those don't work for you, buy a line out converter so you can use you're regular speaker outputs.

My HU doesn't have that and I don't want that anyway because I will be putting my subs back in pretty soon with a different amp so I will have two. There has to be a way to do this.

I find it hard to believe your HU has sub outputs, but not full-range outputs... what kind of HU?

It's Pioneer it only has a place for 1 set of RCA's in the back and it says Subwoofer Output give me a second and I will try to find the model.

Shut you're image enhancer off, that pre out is REAR output and will be affected by it.

Its one of the features of your hu, when activated it cuts the high frequencys from the rear to make the fronts seem brighter, referr to your manual on how to shut it off.

Ok I understand that but do I still hook up the RCA's into that same output? Because soon I will be getting another amp for the subs and have a splitter there. Is it alright to have both the RCA's hooked up to the same output?
