Hey guys, I'm new to the forums. I'm trying to build something for my other truck and I had a few questions.
Budget isn't really an issue, though I'm not too keen on dropping $700 on an amp for this truck (though if it's suitable that's fine), and I'd like to keep it relatively small for this truck. This system's going in a Dodge single cab.
I wanted to go all DD audio, with the
CS5.2 speakers two
SW6.5 woofers and
the C5d amp to power them. to power them.
I'm wondering if this is underpowering the woofers and overpowering the components? If I wired the components in parallel then the amp would be seeing a 2ohm load at 130w rms right? And wiring the woofers in the same way. I'm somewhat new to car audio, having a bigger system in my other truck but I'm still learning.
I will have to jack up the seat to fit the woofers, which is fine because I'm too short and it'd be a bonus anyways. I'd prefer to only keep the amp behind the seat because that's where I keep all my stuff and appreciate the space. Should I ever feel like dropping the cash, I'd like to get the new DD SL712's and put them behind the seat.
I'm just needing opinions on this setup? In desperate need of something new, speakers are all stock and 24 years old, with a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X996 head unit.
With other info that I've received, I would need to put another pair of the CS5.2's in the truck in order to wire the components in parallel? Would this be too much sound for the truck? Also, I was told that 6.5 woofers aren't the greatest route to go, so I thought about using 8" woofers, but they wouldn't be able to fire forward like the 6.5's. I was thinking the
sundown e-8 v.3? maybe? I could fit 10's, like the DD Redline 200 series, but the enclosure would be incredibly small. So then I would need a two amp setup? Any help is greatly appreciated!
