need help with these subs

Ha ha! I was just about to correct my last post about the coil configs. Your right, they only produce a d1 and d2

I now see the 2.5's. Those are only dual 4's so the wiring options are limited. You can only wire 1 of those to a 2 or 8 ohm load, or 2 of them to a 1 or 4 ohm load. Also, the 2.5's are only rated at 600 watts rms, which isn't bad at all, but quite a bit less than the hdc3's. Take your pick, save a little green with the 2.5's or get the better one's. Check the classifieds too, I have seen a couple of the hdc3's in there. You might be able to get a deal on some used.

ok i think i have decided on two of the hdc 12 in haha the other day i was priceing them at 350 in my head thinking about them and was like if they were only like 50 bucks cheaper haha then i realized they are only 250 a piece haha o well ok next piece of buisness i think i also be getting the 2200 unless there is something better around the same price that i have not seen and maybe one of you know about. other than that the ho alt is it gona be a necesity haha im not worried about money i really just dont wanna have to remove mine and put a new one in(i dunno if anyone has ever done a new alt on a ford contour but its a pain in the rear)...but i would do it if need be thanks for all your help guys

ZRS-7500D - Cadence 3600 Watt 1 Ch Competition Amplifier

PCX2000D - Soundstream 2000 Watt Monoblock Class D Amplifier

TX1.2000D - Soundstream 2000W RMS Tarantula Series Monoblock Class D Amplifier

Here are a couple nicer ones right around the same price range.

Here is a hell of a deal on a great used amp: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/car-audio-classifieds/480759-fs-usamps-md3d.html

Brand new this is a $700 amp. Usamps makes some good sh!t.

Check the classifieds or even post a want to buy ad here. I'm sure you can get something really nice for a great deal. You don't have to buy new.

By the way, if you get the HO alt, be sure to do the Big 3 upgrade at the same time. Also run 1/0 wire throughout your car. Build your box to manufacturers specs, unless someone around here who is smarter than I am has better advice on a specific sub.

Good luck on the install and keep us all posted on how is goes.

I would check this out too if I were you: Sound Deadening Materials for Noise Reduction from Second Skin

And for wiring go here: Car Audio Wire

first off i just wanna say thanks guys you have been great help and i appreciate that...also i was looking into that second skin stuff and was wondering if that would not make the trunk rattle and not be as loud out side of the car..wasn't sure if thats what it did or not..and also im looking into that amp i pmed him

thanks again guys

o and yes as soon as i get all my stuff i will keep everyone posted also maybe a video...haha if um that apple corporation every releases that iphone haha but yeah another question i wanted to ask i know what a capasitor does in like a circuit board but wat does the capacitors do in the audio setup do they hold the power and save amplifiers or what

They don't do crap. Don't get one, it won't do you any good as long as you do the proper electrical upgrades. It is a marketing scheme and a waste of money. As long as you get the right amount of batts and big3 you will be fine.

Second skin, depending on what products you use, will dampen vibrations and kill some of the sound that escapes the vehicle. So yes it will not be as loud outside, but if your just doing car audio to be louder than the guy in the car next to you then you should shoot yourself in the face now. By sound dampening it will trap the sound inside the car and make it sound louder and more clear. You really only need to cover about 25% of your vehicle to get serious results.

I hope you get that amp. It's a hell of a deal as long as it is what the guy says it is.

ok figured didn't think the capacitor would do anything and im not looking to be louder than other people im looking for a nice system for in my car thats all and i got a a pm out to him to hopefully //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...that will be enough for the two hdc i spose and at a dam good price

I personally don't know crap about alts. Ask this question in a different section of the forum like Wiring, electrical, and installation. You might get an answer faster from there.
