ok ive been looking at some subwoofers for my car and i like these ones

Audio Savings | 2 QUANTUM 12" SPL SUBS+ATREND SEALED SUB BOX ENCLOSURE

now what i need to know is are they worth it...im looking for maybe a mid range system nothing big just something to make my car shake haha...also if these would be a good choice for me what amp would i need to power these with to get full potential...money is not really a handicap but i would like to keep it under 500 or 600

thanks guys hope you can help me

ok well i checked those out and i like these ones here

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.

so now that i like those i would get 2 and a amp if i go with these wat is a good amp to power them??? i found these on amazon for 128 a piece so that takes my budget for 200 dollers for a amp or less if there is a good one. im not worried about a box cuz i know a couple guys that do that stuff and could make me one

my next question is going to be would it be worth it to upgrade to the swx ones???

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.

if i would go this path i found these for about 269 a piece i would only get one for now and buy a nice amp and save up for the other one later...the question is is it worth it.

if i do something i usually like to go all the way and get most expensive things but alot of the times really not the way to go. i saw some reviews where its says they are pretty much the same thing cept the swx can hit lower notes. if thats the case it would be a better option to get the swr ones.

also if there is any other sub that would be a good choice to do buy one and amp now and upgrade one more later let me know i just like those and i know alpine is a good name

ive helped friends out with teh type R's and they sound good, never heard in person teh type x but friends only say good things about them, maybe get the type r's and a rly good amp, then upgrade ur sub later?

i think i might be going with two type rs and a nice amp to power those babies ive watched some movies on youtube of some and they hit pretty hard for how cheap they are...that being said any one else have ideas against that to go with the type x instead?? either way i am going to need a nice amp any ideas of good ones...i was looking at the alpine ones to go with the subs but i am completly clueless about amps haha not sure what to look for any one with some help???

ok that helps...now i have a question the rms of the subs i understand is the number to look at but heres something im not sure of does high that number equal better sub better hit??? or am i completly off on that one

haha guessing thats what you have allen??? let me check those out cuz that may have answered my question...like i said not looking for anything speacial just something to shake my car alittle

ok now you got me set on audioque what do you think about the hdc3's??? and would one of the aq 2200's be needed to power it or would one aq1200 do it...or honestly would this be overkill. i like the 2.5s but i wanna do it right the first time so what do you think???

RMS= Root Mean Square. It is a term that signifies an average. In other words those Alpine Type R's are rated for 600 watts rms. That is a good representation of how much those subs can handle (each) on a daily basis. They can take more on a burp, but not recommended for a prolonged amount of time.

Audioque makes good stuff. I have never owned them, but have heard good stuff. As far as the HDC3 goes, it will take 1000 watts rms. If you buy 1 the 1200 will be sufficient, if you get 2 make sure to get the 2200. If you get 1 be sure that the voice coil config you get is dual 2 ohm and if you get 2 you will need the dual 4 ohm to achieve a 1 ohm load and get the most out of the subs.

The type x's are good from what I have heard too, but I would be willing to bet that you could buy a used sub on here for the same that will be better at that price.

Hope this helps.

By the way, if you get 2 of those hdc3's you will probably be looking into getting some electrical upgrades for your car i.e. big 3, Ho alt, new battery, possibly multiple batteries

ahhh ok i was planing on doing the electrical upgrades whether i got less powerful ones or not haha i need new wires mine are a bit torn up haha and ive seen some people with the multiple batteries but never understood how to do that but i would most likely do that too but im not sure yet i may go with two of the 2.5s becuz that would suffice what im looking for but my mind is one of those where i always have to buy best haha i hate that about me also how do i know if i choose the dual 2 or 4??? and also if i got one now and one later could i just get one 1200 now and get anoter 1200 later or would that be stupid aha

Personally I think it is stupid. I would rather get the right stuff right up front. But you can do that. This way you will be running 1 amp per sub. You won't have to get a defferent voice coil configuration that way too.

When you buy the sub you will have the option to buy either d2 or d4. If you call they will probably ask, if you buy online.... they will ask. There will be no confusion.

I don't know what you are refering to about the "2.5's".

Read through this forum and other places like the12volt.com. Also to figure out your voice coil configs and how to wire them to whatever load you want, go here: Rockford Fosgate® - Woofer WiringWizard

Buy your wiring from here: Car Audio Wire

Try to do as much research as you can. Eventually people here (including myself) will start making fun of you for asking stupid questions. Just giving you fair warning.

doesn't bother me if anyone makes fun of me...if i dont know i ask haha o well make fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but i asked the for the dual coil question cuz the website only has options for d1 or d2 thats why i asked that cuz i figured d4 would be but yeah um and teh 2.5s are the other lower version for audioque um and i agree if i do something i like to get it all done but i gotta think about it and look up some more stuff
