Need help with subs and speakers.

you can always cut a hole, make a box and add a subwoofer later man, just tell those HS kids to increase the budget an extra 50 bucks if they want a sub upgrade later.
If you do just plan on going ported, i'd go with the pyle pro 6.5s because they only need .7 cubic feet ported. Vs the 8s needing 2 cubic feet ported, going by parts express's recommended specs.
Wait, so originally you said the SQ 6.5's, now your mentioning the Pyle 6.5's. Which one should I run?

just pick one will you, dam.........
Im sorry.... I just dont know enough to know what to do. Still learning //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You don't need to port pro audio mids. They will be just fine sealed or free aired.
Oh ok. So, WHERE IN GODS NAME IS THIS ON PE'S WEBSITE. I have looked for 20 min to no avail yet, you will find 1000 times faster.

Have you tried? They give decent bass response down to the 40s when you do. I'm using a pair of db drive pros 6.5 in .8 cubic feet tuned to 42 hz for bookshelf speakers in one of my rooms. I find sealed only gets good midbass but doesnt dig low.

Im not trying to dig low with a speaker designed for mid range. My subs will play 20-80hz just fine. No need to have mids play that low.

My situation is that in a cramped space with no room for even an 8 inch subwoofer, there is a need for some moderate low end, it can be done, of course its not optimal considering the driver spec'd for midrange performance but its possible to shape the speakers sound for different purposes of each individual's needs/applications. This works well when you just have crap lying around not being used for anything that can be repurposed for something else.
