Need Help with sub/amp setup for boat!

Shes a 1977, I picked her up for a steal last weekend. Ive got a lot of work ahead of me but it will be a great boat when i'm done. Thanks for all the info, thats a ton of help. Once I complete the sub set up then i'll dive into what speakers to run and what amp.

The "yard sale" is sold out of the SA-10 D2's however they do have D4"s. Whats the difference between 2 ohm and 4 ohm subs? Would they work well or do I need to hold out for the D2's?

What the difference between the D2 and D4 is the voice coil resistance. The D2 means there are two voice coils at 2 ohms apiece and D4 means there are two voice coils with 4 ohms of resistance. To help with wiring and understanding wiring use this link Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams | Sonic Electronix The wiring will all depend on your amp and what it's capable of also. And will depend on if your running more than one amp. As for the 77 she looks fantastic this guy is jealous.

I plan to run one amp for the subs and one amp for the speakers, want to keep the battery consumption down as much as possible. I do not have an amp picked out yet and am open to sugeations. I am solely going off the advice "jeffdacheff" has given. I don't have a clue as what to go with, hence why I created this thread. Money is absolutely a concern, so if I could run the D4's being I can get them for 1/2 the price of the D2'a I would like to. That being said I don't want to sacrifice performance due to being a cheap ***.

I was looking at the specs on that amp and at 4 ohm it's 625w per chanel. Running 2 600w subs in parallel wiring I'm under powering the subs correct? However at 2 ohm it would be 1125w per chanel. Running two subs, that would be the way to go correct?

okay, now I'm mind blown! Lol. So I can run 4ohm subs wired to 1ohm. Its like finding out the world isnt flat. To avoid asking you a million questions I'm going to do exactly that and not worry about how it works.

I am having problems with my speakers. I have a 2 chanel Kicker CX 300.1 amp pushing 4 speakers. The deck is a Pioneer MVH-X560BT, it has a front, back, and sub RCA output. I have it hooked to the front output and all I can get are lows out of the speakers, there hitting like subs, I'm not getting words of the songs. What am I doing wrong?
