Hi,
I installed a ppi 650.1 in my car using the high level inputs from my existing factory stock sub. I have a 2013 Kia Optima with Infinity sound system. The factory sub is an 8" dvc sub.
It seems that the high level inputs also turn the amp on, with no need for with turn on lead being used. Fine.
But, I have a need to shut this amp off when driving sometime. When I turn the factory audio/nav system audio portion to off, the amp remains on.
This is not desireable to me because I am an amateur radio operator with a transceiver in the car. If the amp is on when I key the mic, I get a loud thump through the alpine 12 type R dvc sub.
The only way I can eliminate this is to turn the amp off.
But, like I said, even with audio off, there seems still to be voltage on the factory sub output, enough to turn the amp on.
I tried using the blue turn on wire at the same time, thinking that it might be then used as the turn on instead of the high inputs, but still no go with the amp turning off when I turn audio off.
Please help...
Sincerely,
Jason Tsangaris
