need help with "insert board" carpeting

inset* Hey, I need some help fast. Im going to make a box tommorow if the weather isnt too bad. Im planning on doing the inset board carpeting method and i have to plan accordingly. heres the link to the method http://www.bcae1.com/carpetenclosure.htm

anyways, anyone thats done it, how far did you set the side in? the wood will be 3/4", so with carpet im thinking around 1", but i just want some advice from people that have done it. thanks

Yea, I did 1" for 3/4" stock, but you can do it with 1/4" and save some space.

well i have a crap load of scrap 3/4 and im about to have some more, so i might as well. I have plenty of room. thanks. so 1" and everything came out pretty well flush?
