Is it possible...?

So after much deliberation and thought, i have decided on a couple of things:

1. I am wanting a punchy sound, lots of impact. Specifically for rock music and kick drums and such.

2. I want it to hurt, so loud.

3. I want atleast half *** decent SQ.

4. I want to fit it into the back of a 97 chevy extended cab truck.

So i guess my question is, besides subwoofer brand/series choice, what type/size of box would deliver higher impact? Smaller sealed is my guess, but it is halfway educated.

I am looking to use 12's, 2 most likely. Someone pointed out that i have a slight OCD thing with cab symmetry.

So....any discussions or comments or suggestions?

budget?

Get a pair of 12" L7's, and put them in 2.5 @ 34 each, and they'll kick like a mule.

For some reason i am wanting to stay away from mainstream brands...i mean i will if necessary, but i was wanting atleast SOME of the wow factor....was thinking TC sounds or Digital Designs....

Budget really isnt too much of a factor because it will be pieced together over time.

Some DD 2500s in about 2 cubes each tuned around 35-40hz would be pretty loud and punchy.

My 2 15" RL-P's do everything you're looking for. Maybe a pair of 12's would do you right.

I hear ya on the kick drums, my favorite part of the music. I played around with box sizes/tuning and ended up at 32Hz. End of "Kickstart my Heart" sounds like M80's going off and PUNCHES you in the chest.
