Need help With my xxx

Ok ive been switching between subs left and right. ive hada brahma 15 sealed that i loved. i got a 13w7 ported and sealed tuend to 30 hz i hated it both ways very loud very boomy didnt sound that great. And right now i just got a 12 xxx in a fake shell. overall im not that impressed with it. its incredibley loud but it doesnt have that sound quality im looking for. Im wondering if i switch to 2 12's sealed like type r's will i have better SQ? i fiqure 2 Type R's in a 1.5 sealed dual chamber box. how will this compare to the setup i have now. I have about 1500 watts going to the xxx. like i said VERY LOUD but very boomy. how do these new type r's like sealed boxs.

from what i have read through all the enormous hype is that type r's work better ported then sealed. i would give a pair of rl-p's in a sealed box a try.

If you want sq dont go for the r's man. I dunno maybe two 12" idmax sealed?

The XXX in an RE spec'ed enclosure should sound plenty good AND loud.

i also agree with the new box ideas. hell just try sealing the xxx.

You need a better enclosure. the XXX is way up there in terms of SQ. try a different Box.

Either you're too picky and don't know sound quality or you don't know how to build a box. Could be a combination of both. Either way, you have more than enough power going to the sub for what you want. If you loved the Brahma why not go back to it? Type R is ok, but nothing impressive.

man mega i leave for a few months and i come back and you're still debating. lolololol. hey i say u go with 2 12" of the new mags if your gonna go with 12's. i got to hear them in nick(owner of stereo integrity's) car when i was in cleveland, oh for world finals and they sounded amazing. they were sealed with about 1000 watts a piece. they were definitely the best sounding woofers i've ever heard. hands down. i'm definitely sold on them and i'm gonna go with 2 15's.

nah its not the box id ont think. i dunno if im a big fan of ported i think. This box is very very well built. Not by me. I dunno just. It seems really peaky. Some freq's seems 10x louder then others. And it seems to not sound good when it goes up that high. Doesnt play the lows that loud. the low lows i mean in like throw it up. i think my fav sub so far was the brahma in the sealed box. That was amazing SQ blew the W7 away. it was a 15. but t just didtn get that loud. So i fiqure 2 12's would do the trick. As far as 2 type r's i say because 2 of them shipped is like 250 dollers. Im not looking to spend over 350 in subs again. Idmaxs i thought about but they are like 250 each same with the mags and Rlps.

will a IDMAX have better SQ then my XXX if conditions are the same?
