need help with my vw!!!!

Hey guys I'm coming to you in search of answers....ill start out by my car

2004 Volkswagen golf with the monsoon sound system.

180 amp alt

Big three

Xs power cell

Alpine m240

15 inch fosgate t2 silver cone

Here's my question I picked up a used single din jvc kdsh1000 but am having problems locating the correct wiring harnesses I called a local shop I have delt with before that does custom audio all high end stuff and good prices they installed my friends CD player for 70 bucks including all kits n harnesses. I called them and they told me 350 for the install because my vw needs some special harness that is 200 in itself. Is this true is there anyother way to install it without spending that much money I want this nice deck installed but can't afford to spend that much for it please help me out.
