need help with mag

ok well i turned on my mag and it made an odd rattling noise. so i pulled it out and a tinsel lead came out of its terminal, but now when i put pressure on the cone i hear a crackling sound. so this made me think it was blown, but when i powered it up again it plays fine but has an odd sound at low volumes. so now im just confused. can somone help me out with this? thanks in advance for the advice

Check the spider. Make sure it is still glued down well. Also, do ma a favor and take a DMM to the coils and tell me the DCR of each coil.

ok yeha i check teh spider the whole around it lifts up easily. and my DMM is dead my dad used and didnt turn it off.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif but the spider is lifting quite easly.

Is it lifting from the basket? What I mean is the glue joint still intact or is the spider loose from it's mounting points? If it is, it will need to be repared. You can reglue it or send it in for a recone, but if this is the case, there could be potential damage already done to the coil and/or moving assembly.

its actually lifting from the basket. you think ima have to get a recone?

It's possible to reglue the spider. I would try that first. I'm guessing the coil has already been knocked out of alignment though.

is there anyway to check after i reglue to see if everythings ok,, in other words will it sound diferent?nad how much is a recone goona cost me?

If the coil is out of alignment or scratched, you will be able to hear it. As far as the recone, email here and you'll have your answer.
