need help with ipod and cd

ok i just installed my system and tried to turn on the radio and it works i listen to some radio stations and then plug in my ipod but there is no bass the subs and amp arnt working so i figure its because i have an external cord. So put in a cd and the same thing happens no bass

then i try the radio again and it works. i tried switching cords to see if that worked and nothing worked

please help me

me either one thing it might be is

when i cut the remote cable (blue wire) that is connected to the wiring harness i ended up putting the 2 ends of the remote wire and the amp wire al back together so it was the 3 ends together. isnt that how it is supposed to be?

i think i found out my problem

i hooked the amp wire to the power antenna and not the power on which it should be
