Need help with Distortion

As the title states, my friend is having a little trouble with his system. His system ,my old setup, is 2 Memphis PR 10's and a SS 600.2.The subs sound like all they are doing is distorting. Ive checked his ground and the ground isn't the best but it is decent. But they distort alot I'm pretty sure it is something in the gains but just don't know what exactly. Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

The speakers may be wired out of phase. That will cancel out all the bass and leave you with distortion only.

Yes, the dumbass has one wired in parallel and one in serires on only one channel of the amp.Well ive told him several times and he dont think i know what im talkin about. What is a way i can fix because we tried wirin bopth in parallel to seperate channels and the distortion is still there.

wire it correctly and set the gain correctly.

Did you try flipping one of the speaker leads moving the positive to negative and negative to positive? Try this with only one of the speakers and see if it helps.

Well figure out what ohms his subs are and what the amp makes most power at and wire them up both paralle or both sereis or series parallel to get the OHM load the amp wants to see. Try and use more than ine channe on the amp?
