need help with components

Ok so Im going to be getting components for my car its a 2006 focus zx4 if that matters. It takes 6x8 speakers. I already replaced 2 of the factory ones with Infinty Kappas. Now I want a 6x8 component set. Upon looking around it seems not alot of companies, at least some of the higher end stuff ive been looking at online, make 5x7-6x8 speakers/components. Not that im necessarily looking for super high end I was just looking at some of the better names Ive been hearing.

Question is can anyone recommend some good 6x8 components - budget is lets say around the $300 range but im willing to go more if theres something thats alot better for lets say $50-$100 more.

Also as far as getting an amp for them, I already have an old single channel Bazooka 600 watt amp powering my single Kicker sub. Would you suggest getting a seperate amp to power the comps and the back speakers, and having 2 amps? Or would it be better so get a single amp to power everything. If so what would you suggest?

Ok first off, ditch the 6x8/5x7s and make a baffle(speaker ring/adapter) out of MDF to fit a 6.5 speaker

Next you want to amp components, not amping them would be like starving them, amping components will really give them life and sound great!!

Then if you want to get rears its totally up to you, some people like having rears, some dont, but with a single sub I will suggest you upgrade your rears either now or in the future.

Finally you can just get a 2ch for your components up front and run the rears off the HU, or get a 4ch for all 4 speakers, what ever fits your budget, personally in this case I would get a 4ch

Look into:

Phoenix Gold RSd components, on eBay they go for $90, on OnlineCarStereo they go for $129

Profile Amps, good budget amps

Kicker Refurb Amps from HifiSoundConnection, another great choice of amps for a smaller budget

Pioneer REV, great coaxials, ideal for rears

thanks for the responces so far. Ya ill definatly make that switch. Do you recommend just buying a basic adapter for 6x8 to 6.5? I see a few just doing a quick google search and there like $7. Any recommendations for 6.5" comps with a $300 or so budget. This budget is not including the amp, that ill get seperatly and will most likely decide on a 4 channel.

But as far as my other question, should I run 2 amps since I already have 1 powering my current sub. I read somewhere people say thats ok and just to get a distribution block so theres only 1 power wire going to the battery. Would I have to re run the wire if I do that, because I would assume I would need thicker gauge?

making one out of MDF would be better than the plastic ones I think your talking about above

and I would chose the Rainbow SLC265s for components

Theres a few Rainbow Dealers on here, PM either:

6spdcoupe

PremierAudio

3.5Max6spd (Correct?)

I wish I had 6X8" holes... there is one excellent bang for the buck 6X8 component system available... Fosgate t1682s... 6X8's are often more efficient and have more midbass that many 6.5" round speakers.

One other consideration before you buy... when you trade in your car... if you want to put your speakers in your next ride, if the new vehicle does not have 6X8 holes, you are screwed. But 6.5" are becoming standard, and are also much easier to use in custom installs... there are no 6X8" hole saws!

The kappa's are not bad, still like the fosgates over them.

In reading your post again, since you are willing to spend more money... Image Dynamics has a 6X9 in the XS series I think.... they are new, I don't know how easy they will be to find... they would be the best in that size.
