Need help with an install?? Line out converter question.

My friend is getting a 2011 Ford Fusion and wants to keep the factory HU because it has Sync.

He is on a budget, so I recommended him some Alpine S coaxials to run off of his Memphis 50x2 @ 4 ohms amp, and a Soundstream: WoofersEtc.com - Di300.1 - Soundstream 300W Monoblock Class D Amplifier amp to run his 2 Kicker Comps (150 rms ones).

Originally I thought he was going to get an aftermarket HU, but then he wants to keep the factory HU to keep the Sync features and help keep cost down. The only problem is that I have never done an install with line out converters. So I have a couple questions:

1. Will the front stage coaxials sound decent running off a LOC? I hear that some converters cause distortion.

2. How many watts max for a LOC do I need to run the Soundstream amp?

I figure I need 2 LOC's (1 for the coaxial amp, and 1 for the sub amp.) Is this correct? I can figure out how to splice all the wires, I just look at LOC's and have no clue what specs to look for since I have only worked with the typical Kenwood/Alpine/Pioneer HU.

Can anyone help me out?

I just want to know if I need a certain input wattage LOC for the sub amp and if the speakers will sound any good.

Don't cheap out on the LOC, buy a nice one from the start or you'll have no end of trouble. I don't have any experience installing them so I can't help with your other questions, I'm just sharing my observations from the topics that get posted here.

I just installed one on my car. They are very easy to setup. Just connect the correct colors to your positive and negative wires on each of your front or rear speakers and you get an rca output. I didn't notice any sound quality difference at all. I just installed a JL Audio 500/1 and a SSA DCON 10" to my stock bose system and it sounds great. I had the positive and negatives mixed up by accident on one of the speakers and thought my LOC was bad and purchased another one locally which I can no longer return. I've got it for sale if your interested.

It's the PAC SOEM-T. $40 loc from sonicelectronix...PM me if your interested.
