I finally got my sounds working, but for about 1 minute. I hooked up my speakers to my amp and i got sound, when i turned up the gain in the amp, i turned it up a little too fast and heard a pop and the red light turned on in my amp.

It turned green after like 5 seconds but didn't get sound from my subs. Did I blow something or what's wrong? need help. I've had this amp about 4 years and it's always turned red (light) when i wire something wrong, but this time i can't hear my subs.

I'm afraid that i blew something because the speakers are new, the HU is new, and I don't have anymore money to spend. =(

Can someone help a brother out?

Yup, I checked all the fuses and they are good. I get sound from my HU because I can hear the speakers inside the car but not my subs. My amp is on because the light is on.

well, depending on the amp.. it may be worth fixing. Should be under $100 for most siple amp repairs.

But if the amp is nothing speacial, then that $100 would be put to better use towards a new amp.

And wont the break the bank means something diffrent depending on how your talking to.

How much are you looking to spend? Whats the voice coils on the subs? how many watts do you need? Do you want new or used?

Start by telling what amp it was..If you can solder, maybe have a try at fixing it your self.

What i mean by not breaking the bank means i don't want to pay nothing crazy like $400 or $500. Subs are 2ohm and the amp is not that special, AUTOTEK SS590.2. I'll post pics in a little while. I'm looking for something that can push these just right.

ok, well the AQ 1200 is a great bargin. new for like 250ish. does a solid 1200 at 1, so you would get like 600 to each sub.

Used, I would expect to pay about 200 for a decent 1 ohm stable amp that does 1000-1200.

Well, I just looked at those subs.. idk if they would stand up to that AQ.

If you set it up right, meaning proper gain and stuff, it will work fine, plus it will be a flexible when you do upgrade subs.

np.

btw, a class D mono amp will be better suited to running subs. Thats not a bad looking amp.

may want to hold onto it and think about getting it fixed some day to run some components.
