NEed Help With AMP!

Hi im not really good at this but here are the specs for the sub.

8" Punch HX2 DVC Specifications: Depth: 4.8125 inches

Peak Power: 800 Watts

RMS Power: 400 Watts

Sensitivity: 85dB / W / m

Size: 8 inches

Type: Dual Voice Coil 4 Oh

What amp would i need to get the most power out of this sub.

would i need something like a 400w rms amp? i have no clue please help.

for just one sub you need a amp that is 200w a channel RMS then just hook the coils to the left and right channels.

yup... one that puts out 200W a channel @ 4 ohm BUT it would be better if you could get a second 8" as you not going to find many amp that put that power out @ 4 ohms per channel.. IF you had 2 of them you could wire them so each channel sees 2 ohms OR a single bridged channel @ 4 ohms

or you can use a mono block amp. you don't need a 2 channel amp for 1 sub.

are mono bock amps stable to 2 ohms without costing much??
