also, i would advise against using bast boost on the amp. great way to clip the signal and fry the sub.

yes you should find a "common ground". usually a bolt that is directly to the frame/chassis and scrape away all paint.

better flow back to the alt. the better the current can "flow" the better the power cycle will be.

err, current actually flows FROM THE GROUND thru to the positive. positive is actually your return on 12vdc systems
