Hey guys, I was wondering if y'all could help me out with my future setup. So i'm about to purchase my first subs and i'm already set on the Kicker 15" L7's but wondering about how I should run them. This is their power handling:

Peak: 2000 watts

RMS: 1000 watts

I already know a little about subs but wanted to get help from some experts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif. I'm trying to get the very most out of them so I think a want to run them at 1 ohm for the most rms power to them. The amp i'm looking at is a Monoblock class D Power Acoustik GT1-4500D which is rated at 4500 max watts and 2700 watts rms at 1 ohm. Is that to much rms watts for them to handle? I know to run them a 1 ohm I need 4 ohm subs since they are DVC but if it can handle 2700 watts then i'm going to go with 2 ohm subs and run them at 2 ohm's which is rated at 2200 watts rms. If y'all have any other amp suggestions that will get the most out of these subs, i'm 100% open on taking them.

Also, the box i'm looking at is a Ground Shaker KKP. Do y'all think I should get a sealed or ported box?

Thanks in advance for all the help:cool:

Well not to bust ur ballz ..but the subs and amp are way overrated ..what vehicle is this going in ?

Going about things all wrong. Kickers aren't bad but you can get much better for the money. You don't want that amp. Plain and simple. Have a box built, ported and tuned correctly for your subs

That amp has 120a of fusing so realistically it will do 1200rms@1 ohm on a good day ..but being pa id say maybe 1000 so at 2 ohms it might do 5-600
Do you have a suggestion on a better amp?

Do you have suggestions on better subs for the money and amp? About how much would it be for a custom box?

if you want a budget amp go for the belva or hifonics brands. good amps for cheap. hifonics more power hungry than belva though, but from what somebody told me it has a better resale value since people know the name. and i got kicker comp r's and they slam but for the money i could have spent 50 bucks more each sub n got incriminators or for the same price american bass and i would rather have either of those any **** day over kicker. make sure big 3 done at 0 gauge and i personally recommend a h.o alternator from mechman and a agm battery to make sure your car can give it all the power it wants.

I'm not really on a budget so if you have suggestions on higher end amps that would be great and I have 2 optoma yellow tops for battery's but will definitely look into a new alternator

I'm going to try to stay under 5,000 but looking to spend the least for the most boom. Im going to flip the back seats up and put the box there and I already have 2 optoma yellow tops and looking into a new alternator

If budget isnt a issue the possibilties are endless..what kind of output are you looking for competition? daily groundpounder?
