Hey all, I am in the process of installing my first car audio system. My box is coming in a couple of days and am getting ready to install it all. I bought the following parts for my car:

Head Unit: JVC KD-G510

Speakers: Pair of Pioneer 6x8 4-Ways

Subwoofer: 12" Alpine Type R in 32 hz tuned box

Speaker Amp: Profile HA600

Sub Amp: Directed 1500D

Now I have a distribution block and plenty of Knuconceptz wiring, as well as a DMM. I have already installed the speakers and the head unit with the speakers currently getting power from the HU. How would I wire the amps together so it would all work? If it matters, I am wiring the sub for 2 ohms. I am not experienced at all with cutting and twisting or whatever with wires so please explain exactly (like I assume for the distro block I have to run two wires together in the middle of the block and twist these two wires together. If so, say something like Run the wires to the middle of the block, cut a little off of the wire, and then twist together).

-I have the gain setting down (I have plenty of tutorials) by the way

Thanks all and I cant wait to get it all installed.

Run a set of RCA's from each preout on your deck to each amp. Wire the speakers to the amp. Run a remote turn on from the deck to one amp and daisy chain it out to the other amp.

Not too hard.

Sounds like the makings of a better than decent budget system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Not quite...

Like johnecon said you'll want to run a set of RCA interconnects from the preamp outputs to the amps for signal transfer (I'll assume you knew this, though.)

Since you're only running the two amps it should be okay to run the remote accessory activation lead from the head unit to one amp then jump off of that connection at the one amp to run over to the other.

As far as the distribution block is concerned you'll have a spot for the main cable which will come in one side of the block. There will be an Allen-head screw that tightens down on this main cable.

On the other side of the block will be your outputs for smaller-gauged cable and the method of securing them should be the same. You shouldn't have to twist anything together as that it somewhat why you're using the block in the first place - a cable size reducer in addition to a multiple output power tap. Each cable that gets inserted in the block is touching a common chunk of metal - no need for the cables to touch each other at all. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Good luck with it and let us know how it turns out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif
