Need help wiring 4 2ohm subs to 1 ohm

My friend has 2 seperate boxes with 2 2ohm subs each. He was wondering how to get it to 1 ohm. He is using a 1600watt Hifonics class D amp to power it

He tried wiring it like this



But after hooking everything up it does not sound like its getting the power it needs to.

So my question is is that 1ohm or no?

and if it's not, if we were to run a wire from each negative and positive terminal to the other and then just go from one terminal to the amp would that be 1ohm?

Your diagram appears to be wired correctly for 1 ohm.

What's the model of that Hifonics?

Also, what kind of boxes? Sealed or ported and what is the cu ft? Box designs/size make a huge difference in 'loudness'

what are the subs? dual 4? dual 1? single 2 ??? either way u cant wire 4 2 ohm subs to 1 ohm. either wire it to .5 ohm or 2 ohms.

By his diagram they are 4 2 ohm DVC, which can be wired to 1 ohm.

So we wired it correctly? The boxes are sealed and relatively small. I guess that could be it.

You should determine the cuft of one sealed section for a sub and let us know the sub model. We can then help determine if it's the right size.

Were the boxes custom built for these subs or prefab bought?

its 4 10" cvr's, powered by a 1600watt hifonics amp. the boxes were custom built to fit perfectly to his car.
