i have a deh-p770mp sitting here. yet, im quite timid to install it because of theft issues.

so i came up w/ the idea, since i cant use my cd-changer because of no adapter made, i take that out, place my new hu in that spot (you can barely see where its at when looking in) and keep my stock hu in its stock location so if ppl peep in, theyll see the stock hu, and not my upgraded one.

but i have a problem...where would i find a wiring harness that is long enough to extend down to hook up to my 770?

is there somewhere that i can custom make a length for a harness?

ill be taking pics shortly to show you what i mean.

easy.........just get a bunch of crimp connectors and some wire and just make extensions to the wires u need (power, remote, speaker wires...etc...) and the ground wire should be grounded somewhere to the frame near it's new spot......

hell you dont even NEED crimp connectors...just use electrical tape for the connections make sure they're good connections....

thats a GOOD idea btw.....

I agree with Bassaddict, but take the extra time and use connectors. And yea that is a good Idea.

Someone on here made a fake face plate for when he took out the real one, put the crappy fake thing in there to fool people.

heres a pic

sorry if its big, dont know how to resize.

im hoping that the hu will fit in that section. and when standing outside the car, you cannot see that section at all.

and thanks.

and thanks for the idea

thanks

and can you happen to find me a link to that thread?

that seems like a great idea

im afraid to mess w/ the wiring harness tho. im not too good splicing, cutting and all that.

Hope you have fun tring to take the 6 cd-changer out cause in mine, I have a 2003 Dodge SX 2.0 R/T and mine came standard with that and I couldn't find a way to take it out. And then I found out that it's built right into there. Not sure about yours tho.

theres a pick of my 04 srt-4. i love it

you'll get it out. They don't build the car around it. You might have to take that center console out thought.

Go to a CC or BB or some local shop and buy a harness. It'll match up color to color for the harness that comes w/your pioneer and make the intsall (extending those wires) much easier.

will do.

ill post pics once i get my sub (ava12) and amp setup in and everything else.

several weeks later...

i now have my whole system sittin here ready to be installed.

i need to go purchase another wiring harness sometime this week so i can double up my wires as previously said.

someone recommended electrical tape, while someone else recommended connectors...

what are these connectors and is there a store locally that i can buy some? (pics would be nice.)

do i just buy the other harness, snip 2-3 inches off the wires and somehow connect them to my harness pioneer provided? and voila it'll work just as good?
