Need help understanding some stuff plz !!!!!

yeah, just to make sure you understand this...

-Same power, slightly large subs = Almost no difference

-Way more power, same subs = Decent increase in SPL, not much change in SQ

-Way more power, slightly larger subs = Decent increase in SPL, not much change in SQ

So basically changing the subs isn't going to do a **** thing (since they are so close to the same sub), but upgrading the amp or adding another should result in a pretty decent increase in SPL.

The only thing that would make your subs hit noticeably lower would be the box. Lower tuning = more low end, also a bigger box with the same tuning usually has a similar effect, just not as significant.

ya, the reason for upgrading the subwoofers is so that i can run more power to my system. Technically your not supposed to put over 500 watts on 2 12w3v3's. i know that they can handle more power safely cuz 250 watts for each is a lil underpowered, but i cant really upgrade to 1000/1 amp without getting close to the danger zone on the subwoofer/amp charts.

also, if i get the 13's, a new box will be required, which will help the sound out as well. The box i have now is what JL recommends for the subwoofers that i have.

I did the math for you. At 40hz you'll gain 3db assuming you upgrade the subs to a larger size, but only if you put enough power on them to actually reach xmax for each sub.

No we don't...many have stated, JL makes a great product.

But why would we buy a product thats overpriced, and mainstream quality. When there are multiple companies out there that can deliver better products for the money.

sell ur subs and get something better not 13's that not an upgrade thats a waste of money

Upgrading from 12s to 13s won't make a single bit of difference.

Upgrading the amp, or getting a new box could have a definite difference, but changing the subs alone isn't worth the money.

if u read my posts, the reason im upgrading the subwoofers is so that i can put more amp power on them (ima put a 1000/1 on the 2 13's, which ive stated like 10 times nucka) jeez...
