need help setting sub levels

i just got a the kenwood kvt617-dvd unit installed. i am working on gettin all that audio tuned to my liking, but i cannot seem to figure out the subwoofer settings. i found the setting the first day i had it and turned the sub level way down and cant seem to get back to that setting. the only sub setting i can find now is one that goes through the audio setup -> tone settings -> bass but even with that all the way up its barely a little bump. if anyone knows how to get back to the other sub settings please let me know...i dont need to have subs if i cant turn them up...
