Need help pricing out my system

My 2000 3.8 Mustang has an engine knock discovered after fixing a hole in my oil pan. ($600)

My mechanic says he can take the car and just waive the repair bill and let me take my stereo stuff out.

Someone local that I've known briefly says asked me for a price and I just blurted out $1100. ($600 for repair and $500 for the stereo stuff)

I really haven't been on the forum lately and don't know what stuff sells for. Should I take no less than the $1100 for the car and everything. OR should I give the car to my mechanic to waive the bill and sell my equipment on here or ebay? Time is somewhat of a constraint, I need money for a newer used car and don't have anything to get around in right now.
