Need help picking out a solid 8" sub.

I bought a new F150 extended cab and I am trying to figure out what type of sub setup I can do to maximize my sound without sacrificing the interior.

I am going from 2 10" RE SX subs powered by a 1000rms amp. so I want to get as close to this as possible but realize it probably won't happen.

I was thinking of going with a single 8" in a ported box? or perhaps a 10"

it seems that every box for a truck is sealed. Can I get as good or better sound out of a sealed box than ported?

I plan on using my PPI amp so whatever sub/subs I get it will have a 1000x1 2ohm amp to power it.

Any advice on this would be great...thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Haven't heard anything but good about DD 1008's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Word. ~1 cube each ported, and DD recommends tuning to 40 hertz. The DD's I've heard are unreal, IMO. Get loud and still sound really good.

My .02 though....

can anyone post up a link with more info on these subs?

I think I found their website but it says they only handle 3-500watts I am assuming they are stating RMS but it doesn't really say.

I want to use my PPI amp and it's 1000rms @2ohms. Forgive me because I am pretty new at this stuff but I don't think that sub can handle my amp. Plus I can't run two of them if they requre 1cuft of airspace.

I dont know where you are planning on putting them, but mounting depth is critical in trucks,I could fit 2 jl 10w0 behind my chevy rear crewcab seat, but just barely at 5''depth. Whats your mounting depth max? I would say 2or 3 jl 8's if you can fit them. I know guys will say jl is over rated and big $, but its quality and lasts forever, My jl10w0 are 7 yrs old and still sound tight. Sealed boxes are usually the only way to go in a truck.

I have ~5.25" Mounting depth problem is I have to put the box below the rear seat. This type of mount doesn't allow for much volume. I am probably gonna try and figure out a box design that will give me about 1cuft of air space in a ported box for one sub. either 8" or 10" if I can make it work. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
