Need Help Pickin Subs!?!?!?!

ok, i jus want something that will pound, and soon, until i can save up enough loot to get sum10 hard, those kenwood subs are only 99 bucks each, thats easy to come up with in one whop, 500 for one sub is kind of a hit to my bank account, getting another pair of sonys isnt logical 12volt, those obviously didnt work, those kenwoods have higher power handling capabilities so im thinkin they'll last a lil longer, at least longer than 5 months

sounds like real low budget. fuk those subs. get alpine type e's 2 of them. they are loud and csound like shyt but they are loud. another thing is alot of power capabilies on a sub doesnt mean shyt so shut up. you personally want a low rms sub, type e's are these. get that and a cheap amp. someone suggest an amp i give up typing i am tired now

jeeze, I literally thought your first post was a joke till I saw your post count. um..

just save money. don't waste it on crap. eventually you'll want it louder anyways.

Type E's will handle 350-400 watts each if you're gentle to them. And that's RMS, actual power, not peak power bro.

My suggestion? Sell your two Amps you have now to one of your boys locally and pick up something used off the forum.

For example, I have a Power Acoustik A3000DB for sell. It will do around 18-1900 rms and it's right around 200 bucks for the amplifier used.

Then, use that 200 you were going to spend on those Kenwoods and put them towards two Alpine Type R's in a ported box. You will be amazed how much louder and cleaner your substage sounds, seriously.

Just my two cents worth.

Edit - And judging by your posts you do not have enough experience/sense to run the Type E on that much power, sorry. Pick up some Kicker Comp VR's and put them in a ported box if you're going to keep the amplifiers you already have.

Power doesn't blow subs, distortion does. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

And yes, sell your amps, power doesn't necessarily mean anything. Yeah youget loud, but how great is loud if it sucks.

I bought 600 dollars worth of memphis stuff for 350 used locally, which i may have other plans for now, but that isn't the point.

Search around, make these forums your home for a bout a month, you'll start to catch onto what is right.

Trust me, in the long run, you will want different amps, I can completely understand gettin' those in the first place. Shoot, I have like 3 different stories where I made uneducated purchases and got retarded results. I've wasted enough money on uneducated purchases.

Listen to these guys, I know they flamed you a lot, but there is some good in there.

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2529 their 139 a piece, if 100 bucks is not too hard to come by, make it double and a half and you have two of these, you can build a ported box for 50 bucks. these will run off one of your amps, but you would be best to sell them and by a 1000x1 or a 500x2 amp that is bridgeable. and always remember, RMSWATTS and ohms is all you need to look at, that peak power stuff is a number that in your case means absolutely nothing, trust me, it took me forever to get over that fact.

and sorry but I had to say, the second i got halfway through your first post, i already felt bad cause i felt the fire burning...

^^^Do this^^^

This thread cracks me up....if you wanna stick cheap, sell the amps like the others have suggested and get a used amp then possibly a RE Audio SE 15" of off Ebay for $165 brand new. It's 600 rms so 600 watts will make it sound just fine and used amps which do that power are cheap.

i really apprecieate all the info, i am still learning at all this, i took the last couple hours and browsed around this page and u all were right, i learned kinda alot jus in that time, im looking into being a mecp, right now i work at radioshack and were about to open a car audio installation service and i guess im supposed to be the installer, but ive got a long wayz... on another beat, i have been puttin a lil to the side every now and again, eventually when i save enough i want to pick up one of those XXX12's, those subs are the shit, sry for bein a noob, im takin everybodys advice and doing alot more research and schooling before i drop n e more cash on sum10 cheap.
