I'm trying to copy a homemade dvd that some of my relatives made. I have a dvd player on my computer and a stand alone dvd recorder. My dvd recorder is a Sony RDR VX515 and the computer is a Compaq Presario with Windows XP.
I bought an S-Video cable to hook my computer up to my tv so that I could re-record the dvd. However, this isn't working as planned. The dvd recorder seems to be rejecting the signal that the computer sends to it, I'm assuming some copyright bullshit. When I try to play what I recorded from the computer, it just flashes the "Error, Cannot Perform Action" symbol, and skips to the next part of the dvd. And as soon as I try to record with the S-Video unplugged from the computer, it just records a blank screen, so I know everything is plugged up and programmed correctly.
So is there anyway around this crap? I find it very weird that it won't even record me messing around on the desktop with all video and audio playing programs closed.
