need help on mids

i was wondering if there are any ways that i can eliminate the bass from my mids, when i turn the bass up for my subs. will and equalizer work??? Imma noobie so please help me.

i have a crossover, but it still lets the bass through, and when my tweets are hooked up to it, it starts heating up like crazy.

ppi 2240 with alpine hu, pushing two re audio 6.5c and tweets.

Strange, not familar with the PPI 2240 and its crossover settings, but shoud be at or around 80 to 100hz and set to Highpass.

Sounds like its letting bass through, thats why your having the issues with your comps.

Looks like its got a good crossover section, just set it to HP and your good. Also, were is the bass set in your HU? Is it all the way up? I hope not, because even with a Highpass filter, having your Bass controls maxed out will cause a issue.

yeap, same amp. Even when my bass is set to 0, my crossovers will start overheating, unless i unhook my tweets. and the gain is set to just a little over minimum.

Weird, sounds like a short somewhere. Maybe something is touching that shouldnt??

maybe an issue with your amp, it shouldnt be heating up like that. check your connections and especially your ground. could also be an internal issue with the amp. check inside for swollen/leaking caps or lose connections and what not.
