need help on kicker set up

ok, i need a lil help. Ive gotten many different answers on this and I would like to ask the experts so here i am. I have 2 DVC 4ohm 12 inch kicker compvr's. I am in the process of buying a older model kicker amp, the KX800.1 2 channel amp. Im tryin to run around 400 watts to each speaker. The specs for the amp say "power (watts/channel) 2ohm stereo = 400 x 2" and "power (watts/channel) 4ohm bridged = 850. Now i was told to wire them in series an parallel and bridge it but that would be 800 watts to both speakers right? Or can i wire the speakers down individually to 2 ohm and run them to each channel for the 400 x 2? Im so confused, i just got into car audio about 1 year ago and tryin to gain knowledge quickly and this is the best forum.
