Need help on dash

okay in order to get to some screws in my dash i have to "carefully" pry out my left and right AC vent....anyways i need to know how to do that cuzz im gettin pissed off i wanna put my deck in. Oh its a 83 cutlass ciera 2 dr.

You may have to pry a flat head in there and slowly pop it out. Wrap a piece of electical tape around the flat head tip so you don't scratch anything. okay koo man ill keep that in mind, this car is such a pain inthe *** just to get the **** stereo out.....ohhh and the wiring...my homeboy wired teh battery(yellow),ACC(red) from the stereo hanress, and the red wire on the custom harness together, he said thats how u possed to do it but i wasnt too sure, but he say he positive cuz he done this before and i need a second opinion from someone that also knows wut they doin.

No.. that isn't how you do it. The power wire is constant from the battery and the red accessory should be wire to the ignition. If you bought a wiring harness then all the wires should be matched color to color. I'm pretty sure most wiring harnesses are color matched to aftermarket headunits. There should be a seperate connection for power(yellow) and red(accessory).

The trim panels pop off the dash with the vents attached. GM used the same kind of clips on most cars in that era. There's a little info here:

ya it weird cuz ive tried pullin them off, like the right side i have unscrew two screws where the dash is 1st and then i can start pulling. but ya the right side the bottom part will pull but the top is stuck and then the left side i pull andthe top pulls cuz i think i broke somethin and the bottom is stuck like hell. but when i look through the left vent i can see 2 screws my little booklet thing was talkin bout that came with my mounting kit.

let me find a pick of an 83 dash so u can see wut im talkin bout, theres this slim piece of trim that has to come out that exposes screws to take off the panel.
