Ok... First of all I'm getting 2 JL 12w3v3's with a custom JL box. This setup runs 1000 watts rms. When it came to which amp I should get, I ran into a few different choices:

1) JL HD750/1

2) JL 1000/1v2

3) Alpine MRP-M1000

Each one has its perks but I wanted to save money and go with the Alpine. After some more input I started leaning towards the jl 750. Now I just want to know what amp would hit the hardest, sound very clean, and not overheat. Please anyone give me some input.

FYI, If you're not a JL fan and want to dis' on my setup, please dont bother responding!!

Thanks!!!

They are all quality amps. None of them should overheat. They will all hit hard and sound clean. Even going with the 1000 vs the 750, you'll probably not notice an audible increase in output. The 750 should be significantly cheaper than the 1000/1, and much, much smaller. I don't have first hand experience with the Alpine amp to know how it really compares.

SAZ-1200, SAZ-1000 ( might be sae not sure ), AQ 1200, Theres a lot of chioces that would be better than what you have. Seems to me your picking brand recognition over anything else. They are good products but there is other things. Zapco, US Amps, Sundown, AQ all make great amps that you should look into.

Just curious, but how many, if any, of those amps do 1000rms at 2 ohms?

Well I have been running JL for a little over 2 years now and no problems what so ever. Plus JL has also been really helpful. I really like JL's quality but the price is starting to kill me... Thats why I went with the option of the Alpine. Several buddies of my have type R's but their pushing rockford fosgate for their amps.

I haven't hear many good things about rockford fosgate. And I have no experience with alpine amps. So as for brand recognition goes... its a good assumption but not true. Thanks for those other suggestions, I'll def. look into them.
