need help on a sub

my stepdad recentlty gave me an old school 15" kicker competition style subwoofer. i dont know anything about this subwoofer. i have it in a ported enclosure around 2.2 cubic feet tuned to 28hz. i have it hooked up to a jl audio e1200 watt amp, a/b class amp. once i find out some things about this sub im gonna upgrade the amp. please help me i cant find anythign on it.

look on the back of the motor for the actual model number of the sub. and that box is way too small for a 15

how big should the box be then? okay i can get the number here in a little bit

Box size should be around 3.5 - 4.0 cubes, and I would raise your tuning up to around 30-32hz

What model sub? Comp, CVR, CVX, Solo Classic, L5, L7, or SoloX? Makes a big difference what sub it is. Either way, like mylows10 said, that box is probably too small for a 15.

would it be better if i just sealed it back up? and waited to build a bigger box for it. competition style old school, the back says competition C15a 4 ohm extended pole
