Need Help-Moving out of the newbie bass setup

Quick info and history-

Car: 2010 Acura TSX with tech package (boo...)

Current equipment:

Memphis SRX2.150 amp

JL w0v3-4 10" subwoofer

New budget: ~$100-150 for sub/ same for amp.

Goal: Good SQ with decent loud. Don't need it to flex the car but I like to feel it good. 600wrms range is what I'm looking at.

My short story... Got the car audio bug straight from my dad when he passed down his old daily truck to me which he had a very decent full system in. He's always been into car audio but hasn't been in it in years so he's a little useless when it comes to choosing equipment these days. When I got my new car a few years ago, I was pleased with the stock system but, like most people, I needed the bass back! Dad encouraged me to buy what I could afford and learn how to wire everything up myself so I did. Because of the goofy ELS system in the acura, upgrading door components just isn't an option in my budget (need $$$ processor) but they sound good enough for what I need. What I did for the sub was simply pull signal from the stock subwoofer wires with a $20 cheap LOC and wired up the little sub in a prefab box.

Overall, the sq of this setup is lackluster as well as the loudness. Now I'm ready to step it up a little. The bass is there but its just....there... It isn't crisp and punchy like I want it. I want to step it up to a mid level subwoofer and a better amp. Planning on buying a second hand amp and a new subwoofer. Looking to go with a 10" to save as much room as possible plus I prefer the sound of a 10. What I am looking for is suggestions for what to get or not to get for an amp and what to look at for a subwoofer. The SQ HDS210 has caught my eye and for the price point its right where I want to be but I'm open to other suggestions. I will build the enclosure to spec myself. (hopefully get some help here as well, CSCStang maybe?)

Should I be looking at investing in a better LOC or do they all do the same thing? Ive looked at the Audio Control LC6i but not sure if that will get me anything better. Ive also thought about pulling pre-amp signal and running it to an amp that will accept that or using a line driver. Supposedly you can get around some of the funny ELS rolloff by doing so.

Thanks for reading this for and hopefully adding your insight. Im excited to get into this again!

For a subwoofer you could jump up to a 10 inch JL audio w1. They have really good SQ and can fit in a small box as they don't require much airspace. 10W1v3-2 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Drivers - W1v3 - JL Audio A JL Audio JX 250.1 amp would pair really well with one of them woofers. JL Audio JX250/1D - JX If your going for SQ then put the woofer in a sealed box (0.55 cu ft) and it will give you tight accurate bass. If you want more volume then a ported box (0.9 cu ft) is the way to go.

I have had amazing luck with all JL audio products. I install for a living and I never have a bad product and the build quality of the stuff they make is second to none.

if u have the room I'd move to a 12 and do ported box will be lots louder and if u tune port long enough will have great sq.. really hard to pick lots of good subs at the $150 range American bass 12 is $94, sundown E $139 (don't know about sq) cab is $149 some may want more than 500-600rms to really push them., these other guys will tell u.. u can get ppi600d (tested out at 585rms at 2ohm) $100
