i made a box and tried putting it together for the first time.

just a few errors that i feel you guys could answer for me

so i put one side of the panel up which is the rear and then a day later i decided to put the next panel up next to it and seems that theres like a weird gap between the 2 baords when placed ajacent to eachother? anyone think i shouldve glued all of it at one time maybe this would not have happend? the boards are all cut exact.

Post up a pic or 2.

Helpful hints for ya: Whenever I'm building, I ALWAYS mark my boards after cut what size it is and what it's for (i.e. top, bottom, sides, etc). Measure twice, cut once rule, never fails.

as you can see this is my first time building a box lol what sort of tool could I use for the sub hole? I was looking at routers or like a rotozip or something. or what is a tool I can smooth out the hole to be not so jaggity?

dremel maybe?

what can i use to seal the somewhat gaps? calk maybe? does it matter if the outside of the box is not aligned all the way>? the hole is oddly shape but i put my sub through and seems to be fine

That last pic I can def tell it was cut with a jigsaw...lol. No worries tho, you might have to trim some areas once you try to mount the sub. I can tell ya that already. The solution for perfect circles is this Jasper Circle Jig Model 200 I bought both when they had a special going on for both for 40 bucks or so. Long time ago.

The very top pic looks like whatever your port opening is make that squareish, screw that piece in place, then just sand off the excess flush.

2nd pic from top looks like a board got cut too short by 1/16" or so. It happens....me and prob a few other people. That area can be filled in with bondo then sand later for a flush looking finish.

3rd pic from top down I see this all the dam time. Some boards get warped either when you buy it or while cutting. Simple fix is when assembling, use clamps to get those edges close together. Glue the pieces together, then screw each one together. I also see a crack forming at the edge. Make sure you pre-drill your holes deep enough so that doesn't happen. I myself use a 3/32" drill bit and most common drywall screw length is 1.625" (1 5/8"). Also countersink your holes too....this way your screwheads don't stick out.

i like how looking at my pictures you have enough experiance on each step i have done wrong lol

hopefully my next box is better

I pretty much have some tricks of the trade know how....so yeah guess I know a thing or two lol.

great pics btw...perfect showing what went wrong but also fixable.

Lmk if there's anything else.

Oh, and a roundover bit for all the corners makes a world of difference. I myself like using the 3/8" round over bit. Fairly cheap too. Carbide variety size set of 4 cost me 20 bucks at HD.
