Okay so I'm looking at buying an American Bass e1244(1200 rms, 2400max) to run with my Sony xplod 1000 watt amp( xm-1652z) but I'm concerned it won't have enough power to push it. So would an 12" American Bass USA XD(500rms,1000 max) be better? I'm using a ported box, but I don't know the dimensions
For that sub.. A single sub.. You will need an amplifier to be stable @ 2 ohms, of approx 1500-2k rms or an amplifier @1 ohm stable at approx 2k-3k rms to serve at the 2 ohm load decently and get that sub to do some work in my experiences. Id look at a Taramps 3 k amplifier that is 2 ohm stable( find the Sales for the 4th July) That would be a nice amplifier for the $. May take a look at CT Sounds CT amplifiers, and NVX for the money . Take advantage of the 4th July Sales, do some searching, you may be able to find a hell of a deal on a great amp for that sub.
