Need help. Is the amp done or can it be saved?

Ok so I'm new to the board but I've had an interest in car audio, just don't know alot about it. Anyways, I bought a RF P200.2 from a friend for 50 bucks to run a Kicker Solo Baric 8" in my truck to go along with my Pioneer Avic Z1. I go to hook it up, I have a 4g ground but only an 8g power wire. Well I get it all hook up, I start my truck up (2004 GMC Sierra Reg. Cab Short Bed) and I can hear the fuel pump whining through the sub kinda like I don't have a good enough ground on it, but I do it's rock solid. I have a Directed 600d that I had laying around and hooked it up and it doesn't make the fuel pump audible through the sub. So is the amp done for or is there a way to get the sound out of the sub with it. I changed RCA's and everything, it doesnt make a difference with the RF amp.

had same problem,

run same wire for both power and ground

found a better ground

also, is your power cable connected directly to the battery?

Yes, the power wire is connected directly to the battery. I have a Optima Red Top. I did have a sheet metal screw with the area sanded to bare metal for the ground and I rethought the idea of using a sheet metal screw because I was in a hurry when I put the amp in. I have it grounded now to a ground point on the rear pillar for the rear speakers.

is the original amp mounted or screwed to the metal part of the body in any way?

ive heard before that you can get that noise when you mount your amps to the metal part of the vehicle . it creates a ground loop and makes that sound we all hate so much....

other than that i would say its a bad ground somewhere.... radio ground? ?? ....try grounding the amp to the body?

What I don't understand is that it makes the noise with one amp but not the other?
