Need Help installing in-dash monitor

I was planning on getting the Jensen TM9311TS, and was hoping I couls install it myself. I know how to install cd players, but wanted to know if it anyhthing similar to that.

I did my own install on my Alpine D300 after only installing a few simple cd players. It is basically the same thing, just that the wires have to be run to the brain in a hideaway location, usuall under the driver or passenger seat. It takes alot more time with seat removal and running all the wires, but is actually a simple job. Good luck

Thanks I didnt know that. Also i heard if just connect the parking brake wire to the ground wire it will override the video from not playing. Is that true? If not does anyone know how?

yea on most indash units u just connect the brake wire to a ground. thats what i did with my kenwood. and as earlier stated.. it is a really easy install just takes alot of time.

i thought you had to ground the parking wire?

i believe that model (mines on the way!!) requires a sequence. You have to hook that wire to a toggle switch then ground the toggle switch. There's a certain sequence you have to do in order to get it to play while driving.

Its just like connecting a regular radio. There is no hideaway box for that unit. The only thing that you'll want to do different is connect the reverse wire for a back-up camera. If you don't have one you don't have to worry about it though.

As for the by-pass, look up the Alpine by-pass on Ebay. (PAC-TR7) It works similarly. Its a relay to automatically by-pass the unit.
