i want to put a 3 way component system in my truck but need help choosing what to get. I would like to have 6.5woofer , 5.25midrange and tweeter. i need two of everthing, and i also need help in getting passive crossovers. Also i using a DLS CA22 to power the speakers. The amp will do 60watts x 2 @4 ohms and 100watts x 2 @2 ohms. Im looking through the partsexpress.com trying to find what to order. What do you guys suggest?

thanks for the help

Depends on your budget.

And you'll need to build your own passive crossover.

Why not just buy a prebuilt 3-way from a manufacturer like DLS, etc? I know DIY is "all the rage" right now, but most of those component sets certainly do not sound bad for the price.

3-way w/ building your own passive xover for $200 is going to be tight. Especially since there aren't many budget DIY 4ohm midbass. And typically I'd say them being 8ohm isn't a big deal. But when you're talking about only having 30w available at 8ohm....I'd say it becomes more of an issue.

Yes. Those are pretty good mids. You wouldn't want the sheilded version, however.
Also check out Silver Flute on http://www.madisound.com

Any reason you specifically want to go 3-way? IMHO with your budget, a 2-way would be a better way to to.
On my doors i have spots for 1 6.5 and 1 5.25, so i need to 2 speakers for each door, thats why i thought about the 3 ways,

Just because there are holes there, doesn't mean you need to fill them with another speaker //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Not on this budget...

I say just go with a simple 2 way -- one 6.5 and one tweeter... I've been contemplating designing a cheapo 2 way with the silver flutes and ethr a hi-vi or Vifa tweeter for some time now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif (2 options... for tight/tightest budget) -- the Vifa is a far superior tweeter though -- atleast on paper...

were you thinking about getting the w17rc38 or w20rc38s off madisound? How do you think they'd compare to RE Comps w/ the vifa or hi-vi tweets? I thought these were used more in home audio.
