Ok hear is the deal I got a 03 ex cab F150. redoing my stereo. right now I have a sony cd player sony 400x2 amp 2 10" sony subs in a down fire box and factory 5x7 in all 4 doors. Ok my question is I am replacing the cd player with the sony mex 1gp and rplacing all my door speakers. I am replacing the front doors speakers with Infinity reference 5 1/4 component set with cross overs and tweets. and the back door speakers with polk db series 6x9. I would like to know what is the best way to hook every thing up I was told I should run the 6x9 of the cd player and run the component set off the amp and then bridge the subs of the amp. Is this a good way to do it or is there a better way to do it with out buying another amp. I am trying to avoid buying another amp cause really no place to put another amp. So any help would be aprieciated

The picture posted is a bit small to even make what's what. If you're not too concerned with fader controls, buy a four channel amp. Run your 4 speakers off channels 1/2. Channels 3/4 for the subs. That is not the best way but if you're down to one amp, that's how I would do it. You should really make space for a second amp.

Well here is what you SHOULD do....

Ditch the rear speakers, they are not needed, CD's only have Left and right, not front and rear....

Next use the money saved on the 6x9's to get better front speakers... infinity references are pretty weak... At very minimum get Polk Rev's... but you should really get a nice component set like the Rainbow SLC's (budget set, ~$250, send a private message to 6spdcoupe to get a set).... Then sell your old amp, prefereably to someone stupid and get a nicer amp...

Use something like a 4x100 amp. Use the two front channels for the front speakers and bridge the rear set for the subs... it should manange something like 200-250w @ 4ohms bridged...

You'd be much happier with a system setup like this... you'll be short on sub power though... ohh well.... your sony isn't putting out 400x2... what is the model # on it... is that 400x2 max or rms?

But hey, what do I know?

With the stuff he's running, and rear fill, maybe it's not a good idea to get him going on a nice set of SLCs, not that I'm saying it's a bad idea. You also need to spend an extra 50-100+ on deadening.

x2 on the 4x100 amp.

I'm saying drop the rear speakers and spend the money on SLC's
