Need help getting bass up front, thinking 6w0's

I want to get more bass up front, my first idea was to run a 6w0 in each door with sealed mdf enclosures, and then run a small comp set to cover the rest of the highs. The 6w0's would be crossed only to play from about 80-120ish. The problem is is that it would be a lot of work to make these mdf enclosures, and I dont know if it would be worth it.

Right now Im running Rev coaxials 6.5's and they sound allright, but I need more. I did a good deadening and it didnt make a Huge difference, only slight.

So, has anyone tried these 6w0's or similar sub sub?

Mike! Can you tell me your experience with running rev's? I'm running them too and am not happy with midbass. What amp are you using and how much power. Are your tweeters a little harsh?

I have a sealed 6 1/2 (CMass of course) for my doors. I'm running 3-way active, and the door drivers are at 56 hz on the high pass and I have great midbass/bass up front. I think you have the right idea, but you should consider fiberglass over the MDF for the doors. 1) MDF and moisture = bad, 2) you can more than likely get a larger enclosure "in" your door with fiberglass and if you go too small, you won't get the results I think you are seeking. Just a few things to think about, hope it helps

I keep all the treble settings on my eq flat, that keeps the highs sounding natural.

As for the MDF, I would coat them with some of that rubberized spray paint first. Right now its just an idea, it seems like too much work.

Im thinking of trying a set of RE XXX 6.5 2ohm comps, they seem like they'll get the job done.

mike you mean plastidip? it works ok but not for what your going to use it for.

No its rubberized spray paint that goes on thick. Its sort of like that bed liner stuff. Ive used it before and it would work well, but once again, I probably wont go through with it because its a lot of work. (and $ because I would have to go out and buy power tools!)

Has anyone tried the RE XXX comps I mentioned. These look better because they dont need a full-blown sealed enclosure like the w0's. I only read 1 review and they said they were awesome.

I would glass a pair. Easier to fit and with such a small enclosure it would be fairly easy to do.
