Here is the deal! where I live there is only one shop to buy car stereos and stuff at a decent price ...... I have 1 option of Sub and 2 options of Amp

Sub: Kickers CVR12

To be install on a:

Amp Kickers ZX200.2 or Sony MX2002GTR

one more question; Do i need a capacitador fot this hook up?

I know 99% of you guys hate Sony so please try taking your decition base on the Amp spec and not on the brand sony.

thank you for taking your time to help a brand new rookie

read car audio forums for a while then buy used on e bay or from a forum member = better value for money and better bumpin. but if you cant wait kicker is better than sony imo.

thanks for the advice but don't really want used

so what do you think? is the Kickers ZX200.2 enough for the CVR12?

I drive allot at night .... so no capacitador is OK?
thanks
A capacitor has absolutely nothing to do with driving at night... a capacitor is just a device which stores a charge and then releases it, they are supposedly used to reduce voltage drops and strain on your alternator by eliminating the huge draws of power when your sub hits. They don't really work if your electrical system is already being worn since it's just constantly charging the capacitor instead of drawing current rapidly during bass.

Anyway, what they said: Use the Kicker amp if you can only choose from those two, and do not use a capacitor. Buying stuff online is probably a much better options, you can get better prices and obviously there is a much bigger selection.

My car is just one year old and has 21,000 miles so I think the altenator is a little new, the guys at the shop told me to get a capacitador since I new at this I have no idea if that request is correct or not but if you say Is not necesary them thats fine.

one last quick question: Is that sub right for the Kicker amp?
