what is the rms wattage for one of these subs and what size ported enclosure would one of these need? May have the chance to pick up one local and just curious.

How much room do you have? One models really nicely in a 3.5 CF box (the reason that I ask if you have room) tuned to 30 hz.

Rated power is 350W. I know that the 8s could handle a good deal more. If you play really low stuff at high volume in that box you will need a SSF. 2nd order at about 25 hz would work well.

I had (4) sealed in 1.1 each getting 300w off a Orion 1200d (1200x1@1ohm) and sounded good and had plenty of output. Porting them gives them much needed low end and more output.

I have one of them now sitting next to me waiting on a recone from FI since no one was interested in buying it. Good subs.

And this is for one sub?Thats a really big box for one 12". Not doubting what you say,just questioning it! Space is not a problem,got a Suburban. Dont want to use up all my space though.

The good news is that you won't need a huge port because you won't be running a lot of power. Because you don't need a lot of port area and the box is large, the port won't be that long and won't take up much room in the box.
