Need help finding an amp

Hey, new here..

Im trying to find a 2 channel 1ohm stable amp

So far im have little to no luck finding one, i have 2 10" 2ohm woofers i'd like to kick the mess out of, but my current amp i abviously can't bridge.

Well i was hoping for >$200 but i suppose im flexable

My dad used to own a car audio shop before he retired, and the amp i have is new but old... in other words it was never used new in box, maybe from the 90's... but they are basicly the same, amps havn't changed much if any. Its 2ohm stable, pyramid 600w i believe.

So yeah.. i just need something that can do 1ohm stable, i could bypass the protection on this amp... but it would burn it up. Its hard to find a 1ohm amp, eh?

Ok, so over $200. How much power do you want? Also, any reason why you dont want to wire your speakers to 4 ohm? Amp size requirement?

Look on ebay using the search term "cheater" .

Old 2 ch. competition amps of the 90's were designed to list low wattage at 4 ohms, but higher wattage the lower the impedance you used as the soundoff competion rules back then were based on the 4 ohm ratings.

Hence the term cheater.

Some of those will go down to as low as .5 ohm, and deliver well over 1,000 watts at .5 ohm when the 4 ohm specs listed it as 50w.

Orion was the biggest name in the making of cheater amps, but there were several companies that made them.

Yeah, i thought this one was a pyramid, its a unic i just looked.. i tried alot, this one will not do 1ohm stable, i can turn it up quite a bit before it cuts off but still a no-go.

I thought about wiring it to 4ohms but... i would rather have a 1ohm stable amp and really see what it can do. I don't think they make many 2ohm woofers anymore?

Any suggestions for a new amp? im scratching my head on this one, i know some amps aren't rated 1ohm but will do it stable..

What i think im doing to do is, either buy a 2channel amp bridged 1channel and series wire them to 4ohms. Or i may be getting different subs and keeping this amp..

I was a dealer in the late 80's and early 90's and I can tell you that you want to get rid of the pyramid. It is a crap. Get your self a HCCA 225 or 250 and it will kick the living sh*& out of what ever subs you have. I will say that if you will run your load at 4 ohms you can get a class D amp that will put out decent power for the same money as the old school amps and put less strain on you electrical system.

Yeah, im going to get a new amp for sure.. its in fact a UNIC amp (600w, 150x4), you may be familiar if you were into audio back then, we modded it by bypassing the fuses and adding a bigger internal power cable. But, after seeing prices on the 1ohm stable amps... series and a 2channel amp sounds like a win.
