Need help choosing wood!

Well just like the title says.

Im planning to build a wall, was gonna have @CSCStang make me a design for a box, but hes been a bit distant so im going full on gonna buy all new tools to do this project.

I stopped by lowes today and found out they dont sell birch ply in sheets anymore.

Home depot sells purebond birch ply that looks like fake birch hahaha..

Would love for anyone to point me the right direction as i honestly do not want to use MDF!!

Got any links to lowes or home depot pass them to me pweeaassee.

I dont mind paying 50$ a sheets, but if i can find cheaper then id be happy.

I honestly wanna try it myself this time as this will be my first wall.

Ive seen it in store, its very bad wood. Someone had mentioned sanded pine plywood, but cannot find if its sold in home depot or lowes.

They must've changed since the last time i built a box.Maybe it's area dependent too.No clue about Pine tbh i've never used it.

Broskies menards is a Midwest chain founded in Wisconsin or Minnesota can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure they don't exist in the south yet

Find a local lumberyard. Every city has them. If you're doing multiple layers and bracing, 7-ply (which includes the veneer layer on each side) will be fine.

If you build it right you shouldn't need pedigree plywood to make it solid. 5 layers all around or 3 layers + 2X4 bracing EVERYWHERE and it won't matter if you paid 100$ a sheet or 20$. I remember doing a 6 12" bandpass in the early 90's with only an Orion 250HCCA for power and 2 sheets of MDF without bracing was flapping in the breeze... I haven't been impressed with MDF ever since... not without reinforcement and plenty of bracing anyway.
