I want to upgrade the audio in my Dodge Magnum sport wagon.
All I have so far is a 4 channel amp, Precision Power BA1600.4
RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 130 watts x 4 chan.
2 ohms: 200 watts x 4 chan.
Bridged, 4 ohms: 400 watts x 2 chan.
I will probably be getting a Pioneer HU.
I have a very low budget so I would like to find the best 6.5" components I can get for around $150. I listen mostly to classic rock and R&B, rockabilly (often the recording quality is low) and country western. I like crisp clear highs (bright?). I was thinking about these:
Alpine Type-R SPR-60C
NVX XSP65
Image Dynamics Ctx65cs
Pioneer TS-D1730C These Pioneers are the cheapest of the bunch but I did have the D series
coaxials in an earlier car and liked the tweeters.
For the sub I've been considering 1 or 2 JBL GT5s 12" in a sealed box. I think I could run 1 off 2 of the 4 channels of the above amp. I'm not sure what I need in a sub. I want SQ and I want enough volume for it to sound natural with the fronts. I'm not a huge bass guy but I like to hear what was recorded at that volume.
Would love all comments and suggestions.
